Get your real estate licenses in Alabama

Having your Alabama Real Estate License may seem overwhelming, but we're here to direct you through the process.
Read on to learn more about the six stages you will need to complete before beginning your Alabama real estate career. Learn how much it costs to get a real estate license:

Requirements:

First, you must be a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident, or lawfully present in the U.S.
You must be 19 years old.
In the past two years, you must not have had an application for a property or a license denied or revoked in any State.
You must provide evidence of bona fide residence in any state in the U.S.
You must have evidence of your high school graduation or equivalent.
You must not have been found guilty of a crime or a crime of prosecutorial misconduct.
Complete 60 hours of authorized pre-licensing instruction:
To begin, you must complete an approved 60-hour pre-licensing course.

Pass the final exam of the course:

Enrollment with the Alabama Real Estate Commission before your pre-licensing exam is necessary to allow a state license exam to be scheduled and a license to be given.
This information is needed to expedite the exchange of information between your teacher, the Exam Provider and the state of Alabama. Here you can register for your temporary ID. After your pre-licensing course, you will be asked to provide this number.
After you complete all of the study materials, meet the required time requirements, and pass the practice test, there is a final course test. The minimum qualifying score is 70%. Licensees will have 6 months from the time they pass the Alabama Real Estate Salesperson test. You must play the correct exam in the company of the proctor, and you may need to make an appointment with the proctor in advance. Find out more about our online company here.

Pass the Alabama Real Estate Sales Test:

You will take your Alabama Licensing Test after you complete the final test. The State portion of this test consists of 40 questions with a time allowance of 60 minutes and the National portion consists of 100 questions with a time allowance of 150 minutes. Choose a sponsoring broker:

You must be affiliated with, the latest and successful Alabama sponsoring broker after passing your licensing test. This broker will be a career and education coach providing you with an inside view of the day-to-day operations of a real estate agent.
Here are a few issues to ask when looking for the right broker:
What's their credibility, both locally and nationally?
What kind of real estate agents are you looking for?
Is it technologically advanced and up-to-date with the new systems?
Is there space for the brokerage to grow?
How do they help their agents through education and training?
What kind of commission arrangement are they offering?
Are they providing benefits?
Do they provide leads and marketing material to their agents?

Complete the submission:

You must request your official application and any related fees, as well as a fingerprint-based federal and state criminal background check, within 90 days of passing your licensing test. If the application has been approved, a provisional license will be given to you.
Complete Post-Licensing:
Within the first 12 months of the license term, you must complete a 30-hour post-licensing course to receive a permanent license. To hold an active license, the Post-Licensing course must be completed along with a permanent license given within the first 6 months.
